WHAT IS MEMBER-TO-MEMBER?
In 1999, the UAW International Executive Board approved the Member-to-Member (M2M) program, with the directive that this program reach all local unions throughout the UAW.
It is the framework for a structured and systematic communications and action network within our worksites and for our retirees.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
M2M gives union members a chance to learn about labor issues, voice their opinions and be involved in decisions that affect them.
It is a two-way communication tool that provides a vehicle for effective member communications. Members can voice their opinions and ask questions, rumors are addressed quickly and the local leadership can get important messages out to everyone or rally for an action.
HOW IS IT DONE?
Every member is assigned to an organizer who commits to talking to his or her assigned co-workers face-to-face. They solicit member opinions and communicate updates and news from their union.
Member-to-Member discussions include a variety of topics that affect working men and women such as:
-Health & Safety
-Collective Bargaining
-Local Union Events
-Organizing
-Legislation
-Charity Events
-Online Petition/Letter Writing
-Community Actions
