They are rewarded by a feeling of accomplishment,<\/span><span class=\"s1\">working with their co-workers on meaningful projects, and being the change<\/span><span class=\"s1\">they want to see for working people. But we need many more activists at the<\/span><span class=\"s1\">table to help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">By working every day to develop and<\/span><span class=\"s1\">expand our standing and other committees, we can help meet the needs of our <\/span><span class=\"s1\">members and community, limited only by our creativity and commitment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Article 44 of the UAW Constitution requires each local union to establish 10 identified standing <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Committees, they are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Constitution and Bylaws<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Union Label<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\">Education<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Conservation and Recreation<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Community Services<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Civil and Human Rights<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Citizenship and Legislative (also known as CAP)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Consumer Affairs<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s4\">Veterans<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s4\">Women&#8217;s<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Across our union, thousands of UAW members participate in one or more localunion standing committees.
